What OptionStudio does

Every long option position reaches a point where following your own rules costs money. The thesis is intact but delta is low; the profit is real but expiry is near. That is the moment the rules were written for, and reliably the moment they get set aside.

OptionStudio reviews one position at a time using two systems that do not consult each other. A deterministic engine applies the thresholds you committed to in advance — for trimming, closing, rolling and adding. An independent model reads the same verified figures and may reach a different conclusion, provided it justifies that conclusion in the option’s economics.

Where the two agree, you have corroboration. Where they disagree, you are shown the disagreement rather than a blended verdict that conceals it. The reconciliation is never an average, because an average of two considered positions is a third position that neither system holds.

What it reads, and what it computes

Drop a screenshot of a position, paste the table as text, or import a CSV export from your broker. The contract, the Greeks and your cost basis are read and then presented for you to verify before anything is calculated from them. Delta, gamma, theta and vega are imported when your broker supplies them and solved from the option price when it does not.

Prices can be computed under Black–Scholes–Merton, a Leisen–Reimer binomial tree, the Bjerksund–Stensland closed form for American exercise, or Heston stochastic volatility. Each is calibrated to the price you actually paid, so the scenario table starts from your position rather than from a textbook one.

Portfolio review

A book of positions is aggregated in dollar terms, because raw Greeks are not additive across underlyings: summing a delta on one name with a delta on another produces a number that means nothing. Net and gross stock-equivalent exposure, daily decay as a share of the book, and concentration by position are reported alongside a scenario matrix.

Decision support only. Not investment advice. Options carry risk of total loss.
